Ethiopia ratifies Paris Agreement on Climate Change
Ethiopia ratified the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, on 9 March, 2017. The Ethiopian Parliament had approved the ratification law in January 2017.

To this date, 134 countries have ratified this international agreement. The Paris Agreement was adopted with the support of more that 190 States during COP21, in December 2015, which makes it the first universal agreement on climate change.
The Paris Agreement aims at holding the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2 °C and pursuing efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 °C.
France and Ethiopia are fully mobilized and oriented toward this goal, including through the promotion of renewable energy.
