France in Europe

Since 1945, the construction of Europe has constantly been at the centre the French foreign policies. Three considerations made this great ambition a priority :
motivation to put an end to the conflicts that, had afflicted the continent of Europe and weakened France twice in thirty years, in the context of the Cold war, the need to maintain stability and guarantee the safety of the democratic States located in the west of the iron curtain ; and, finally, the desire to build economic , social, political space in order to ensure an integrated and homogeneous security space likely to make Europe a pole of prosperity and peace, capable of playing its full role on the international scene…
