Ethiopian Prime Minister in Paris for COP21
Mr Hailemariam Dessalegn, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, participated in the inaugural day of the Paris Climate Conference, along with 150 Heads of State and Government, on November 30, 2015.
On this occasion, the Ethiopian Prime Minister made a speech presenting "the struggles and hopes of the Ethiopian people, to eradicate poverty and establish a fair, prosperous and sustainable economy". He underlined the vulnerability of his country to climate change, and called for enhanced commitment to climate action from the international community.
The Ethiopian Prime minister also took part in several high-level events on November 30: the launching ceremony of the International solar alliance, a press conference on carbon-pricing, and a high-level event on forest.
